The outbreak of COVID-19 has not stopped smartphone makers from releasing new smartphones. March belonged to the likes of Huawei and Nokia. However, OnePlus is all set to take over the month of April. That’s because the upcoming OnePlus 8 series will launch next month. The company is set to release three devices this time around – OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8 Lite (which may be called the OnePlus Z). With the launch date just around the corner, rumors are flying left right and center. But worry not, we’re here to keep you up to date with all the rumors OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro.

91mobile in association with popular tipster Ishan Agarwal has revealed the specs of the upcoming OnePlus 8 Pro. This isn’t the first time the two have worked together – they had previously teamed up to reveal the details about smartphones such as Samsung A11 among others.
OnePlus 8
According to the report, OnePlus 8 will come with a 6.55-inch AMOLED display. It will be the first device from OnePlus to feature a punch-hole cutout to house the front camera. And following the recent trend of smoother screens, the device will come with support for refresh rate up to 90Hz with FHD+ resolution.
Users can choose between 8GB and 12GB RAM options. It will come with 128GB UFS 3.0 storage expect for the 12GB variant which will come with a higher 256GB internal storage. As for the processor, the OnePlus 8 will opt for the Snapdragon 865 SoC. Power-wise, the device uses a 4,300mAh battery that supports 30W fast-charging.
Talking about the cameras, the leaked images show the glass-back of the smartphone with triple camera setup. The primary lens will most probably be a 48MP sensor. To complement it, there will be a 16MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP depth sensor.
An exciting new leak about OnePlus 8 suggests that the device will be available in a new color variant. The color options include Glacial Green, Onyx Black, and the new Interstellar Glow.
OnePlus 8 Pro
The same reports claim that the Pro variant will come with a 6.65-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest 5G chipset – Snapdragon 865. Adreno 650 will be handling the graphics in the device. The chipset confirms the dual-mode 5G connectivity for both SA and NSA bands. The quad-camera setup will include a Time of Flight (ToF) sensor. This all will be powered by a 4,500mAh battery which supports 50W Super Warp fast charging.
Camera
The latest leaks have revealed some important details about the camera setup in the OnePlus 8 Pro as well. Leakster, Ishan Agarwal, reported that alongside the primary 48MP Sony IMX689 sensor, the device will feature another 48MP lens. It is most likely the Sony IMX586 ultra-wide sensor with 120-degree FOV and f/2.2 aperture. Moreover, the setup also includes an 8MP telephoto lens with a 3x optical zoom and a 5MP color filter. Aside from the 3x optical zoom, the device is capable of 30x digital zoom too. Furthermore, the cameras will have the usual Night Portrait mode, EIS, OIS and 3-HDR features among others.
OnePlus 8, 8 Pro Launch Date
OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro will launch on April 14th, 2020. The Lite variant will hit the market a month after the launch of the aforementioned devices. Keeping in mind the current scenario, the event will be held online-only. Moreover, the availability if those phones will also be affected. However, following the recent trend by brands like Poco, Realme, iQOO, it is said that the OnePlus series will focus on the Indian launch so, we expect it to be available in India just after the global launch.
